That The National Archives had alerted the former President donald trump‘s lawyers last May that some of his self-described ‘love letters‘ with the North Korean leader Kim Jong Un were missed.
What happened: That National Archives and Records Administration’s General Counsel gary star wrote to Trump’s ex White House Lawyers, Patrick Philbin, Mike purpuraand Scott Guest on May 6, 2021, alerting her that the letters the former president had exchanged with Kim and his predecessor, barack obama, were missing, according to new correspondence released by the archives on Monday.

In his email, the General Counsel for the Archives urged Trump’s attorneys to ensure that all of the President’s records are preserved as required by law.
“Approximately two dozen boxes of original presidential records were kept at the White House residence over the course of President Trump’s final year in office and were not turned over to NARA in the administration’s final days, despite a determination by Pat Cipollone they must be,” Stern said . “I had raised this concern with Scott for the past several weeks.”

Details shared by the archive showed how the recording team worked with the former president’s team for months before handing over 15 boxes of materials in January at his resort of Mar-a-Lago.
Meanwhile, letters exchanged between Trump and Kim revealed that the North Korean leader reportedly announced its willingness to discuss denuclearization of his isolated country with the former president while sidelining the then-South Korean president Moon Jae In.
