LONDON, Sept. 30, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Arrivals ARVL announced today that it has produced the first production verification vehicle from its Bicester Microfactory.
Arrival produced the first van in a microfactory using in-house technologies including composite materials, autonomous mobile robots, in-house components and a software-defined factory.
The milestone is a big step towards series production and delivery of vehicles to its customers.
“Today is an important day for Arrival. This is the first time a vehicle has been built in our microfactory, using a new process that does not use a traditional assembly line. Although we haven’t reached full-scale production yet, our focus is to continue producing vehicles in our microfactory to master large-scale production,” said Denis Sverdlov, Founder and CEO of Arrival. “It was more difficult than we initially thought presented and I thank the team for their immense dedication, technology, innovative breakthroughs and problem solving.”
Manufactured this year at the company’s first microfactory in Bicester, UK, Arrival Vans will be used for further testing, validation and quality control and will not be sold to customers.
