The billionaire ex-wife of Amazon.com, Inc AMZN chair jeff bezos, MacKenzie ScottShe files for divorce from her second husband.
What happened: Scott is getting divorced Dan Jewett, a former science teacher, according to a petition filed Monday in Washington state’s King County Superior Court. The filing was seen from the New York Times.
Jewett has reportedly not contested the divorce, the petition saying the division of their property is set out in a separate contract that has not been made public.
Signs of a rupture in the relationship were noted by the Times. Jewett’s message disappeared on her website for the Giving Pledge, a philanthropic organization.
Jewett’s name was also edited out of a Medium blog post written by Scott last year about her philanthropic efforts, according to the Times. Scott, a novelist, also deleted Jewett from her Amazon author bio.

Why it matters: Scott married Jewett in March 2021. At the time Bezos praised Jewett, he said, “Dan is such a great guy and I’m happy and happy for them both.”
That Divorce between Bezos and Scott was finalized in April 2019 after 25 years of marriage.
Scott said in her Medium blog post that she gave $4.18 billion in gifts to 384 organizations.
Bezos was the second richest person in the world with a fortune of $141 billion, while Scott’s net worth was $28.9 billion at the time of writing, according to the Bloomberg Billionaire’s Index.
