What happened: The former president told the Fox News host Sean Hannity, “If you are the President of the United States, you can break the secrecy simply by saying, ‘It is declassified.’ Even when I think about it.” reported The hill.
Trump told Hannity that he had already declassified her by sending the documents to Florida. He said: “There may be a process, but it doesn’t have to be. You are the President. You make that decision. So when you send it, it’s shared… I shared it all.”
Lawyer Akiva Cohen, a partners at Kamerman, Uncyk, Soniker & Klein, tweeted that Trump’s lawyers “are considering kidnapping their client and hiding him in a bunker” after the former president made his comments to Fox.

Why it matters: Trump said in the interview that the General Service Management (GSA) and White House staffers participated in packing boxes as his term came to an end, according to The Hill.
