What happened: according to a NBC News Sunday Poll34% of registered voters have a positive opinion of Trump, while 54% have a negative opinion.
Trump’s popularity rating is down slightly compared to last month, with 54% of people having a negative opinion of him and 36% having a positive opinion.
In the meantime, President Joe Bidens Favorability rating increased. This month, 45% of respondents said they approve of the President, up 2% from the previous month.
However, 52% of voters say they oppose Biden, who is down 3% since last month.
Why it matters: The poll comes as the FBI investigates Trump and the files he had at Mar-a-Lago. Since Trump left office, the administration has retrieved thousands of documents from the former president’s Florida home, including more than 300 with various confidential designations.

The poll also asked voters whether they thought the numerous investigations into Trump should be dropped or continued.
According to the poll, 41% of respondents think the investigation should be closed, while 56% think it should go ahead.
In another poll conducted by Quinnipiac University in late AugustIt was observed that 50% of Americans, including 52% of independent voters, believed Trump should be jailed for handling sensitive documents after leaving the White House.
Although only 39% of independent respondents conducted a New York Times poll in Siena beginning of September said they approve of Biden’s job performance, the poll found Trump trailing him by 3% in a hypothetical rematch in the presidential election.
