Elon Musk-LED SpaceX finally started falcon 9 reusable rocket with 54 Starlink satellites, after several weather-related cancellations over the past week.
What happened: The private aerospace company launched the Starlink satellites on Sunday night from the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida.
About nine minutes after launch, the Falcon 9 first stage booster landed on the drone ship Just Read The Instructions in the Atlantic.

Why it matters: The latest mission marked SpaceX’s 42nd launch this year as the company moves forward with ambitious goals to match Musk’s vision to make life multiplanetary and more practical, avoid a “real risk of bankruptcy”.

Musk, the richest man in the world and CEO of Tesla Inc TSLAalso previously tweeted that Starlink is “intended for peaceful use only,” in what appears to be a response to Russia’s complaints that the US and its allies are using “elements of civilian, including commercial, infrastructure in space for military purposes” at the United Nations meeting nations in the past week.
“It seems as if our colleagues do not realize that such actions actually constitute indirect involvement in military conflicts,” the head of the Russian delegation said in a statement.
Starlink offers high speed, low latency satellite internet service. In the early stages of the Russo-Ukrainian war, at the request of Ukraine, Musk sent Starlink terminals to the war-ravaged nation, which was then facing an internet blackout following attacks from its larger neighbor.
