Alphabet, Inc. Google WELL Advisor Eric Schmidt, who also previously served as chairman and CEO of the Google unit, took a shower Elon Musk with praise during a public appearance in Ukraine.
What happened: Schmidt recently visited Ukraine on a personal mission to explore the country’s military-technical operations and also met with the country’s defense minister Oleksiy Reznikov, log reported. The meeting was also confirmed by a tweet from Andrii Yermakwho serves as Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine.

Starlink gets a pat on the back: The very early launch of Starlink had a huge impact on government support, Schmidt said in the SCSP newsletter. He noted that there are now about 20,000 terminals in the country.
Starlink is Musk’s SpaceX-owned company that offers low-latency, high-speed satellite internet services. In the early stages of the Russo-Ukrainian war, at the request of Ukraine, Musk sent Starlink terminals to the war-ravaged nation, which was then facing an internet blackout following attacks by its larger neighbor.
“Elon is a real hero in history,” Schmidt said at an event on Friday, according to the transcript. “I was on a train – brand new, built in May, in Ukraine – where I was getting down 200 megabits as a passenger on the train. Imagine if that were the case with Amtrak, right?” he is said to have said.
