Snippets of research on the provision of hormonal treatments to young children have been shared and abandoned by the American Accountability Foundation Elon Musk thoughtful.
The research, presented at the 2021 Medical University of South Carolina Annual Research Day, showed that the median age at first visit to the Pediatric Endocrinology Clinic at MSUC was 13.6 years, with ages ranging from four to 18 years. The paper noted that the clinic’s endocrine gender-affirming therapy for transgender youth was associated with improved mental health outcomes.
It has been claimed that these youth may not seek endocrine treatment in South Carolina for fear of discrimination and/or a lack of positive care. It also blamed then-proposed legislation criminalizing providers for the trend.
“Hopefully in the future, more patients and at younger ages will be referred to confirming providers to allow for medical options like puberty suppression,” she added.
The right-wing American Accountability Foundation, quoted the newspaper, said MUSC’s children’s hospital has four-year-olds coming through their transgender hormone clinic.
