Back in 2008, hitmaker “Oops! …I Did It Again”. Britney Spears was involuntarily placed under her father’s conservatory Jamie Spears and lawyer Andrew M. Purse.
Guardianship is used to assume legal guardianship of another adult and is typically used when families need help in coping with that person’s mounting medical, financial, and psychological problems.
Before being appointed to the conservatory, Spears shaved her head bald in 2007. In 2009, when she suffered from mental health issues during her rise to stardom, her fans started a social media trend that has continued to this day #FreeBritney.
What happened: Spears’ attorney on Friday morning Matthew Rosengart approached attorneys representing Jamie Spears and Tri Star Sports & Entertainment, who was her former managing director.
When Spears’ conservatorship ended on Nov. 12, 2021, TMZ sources said attorneys for Tri Star and Jamie Spears reached out to Rosengart to seek a settlement, which appears to have been rejected.
Despite this, Rosengart began backing down last month, offering to settle the lawsuit for a $7 million settlement.
Rosengart is known for advising high-profile clients such as Steven Spielberg, Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder, to name a few.

According to NBC News, Spears’ legal team said that Jamie Spears should be able to pay his own legal fees since he has taken more than $6 million from Britney’s earnings over 13 years. Instead, Jamie Spears sought fees of up to $30 million to be paid to dozens of law firms.
Additionally, TMZ sources have reported that both sides are ready to settle while the question remains of how much, if anything, Jamie Spears is willing to pay.
