WASHINGTON, DC, Sept. 15, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — The US Department of Commerce’s Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) is hosting the 39th annual National Minority Enterprise Development (MED) Week Conference from September 18-23, 2022 The 2022 National MED Week theme, “Power in Capital. Strength in Equity,” will highlight the mission of MBDA and the Biden-Harris administration to strengthen minority-owned businesses and entrepreneurs by increasing the access of Minority Business Enterprise ( MBE) to expand capital, contracts and networks to create a fairer and stronger economy for all Americans. MBDA will host in-person conferences and livestream events.
This year’s MED Week conference will be the first since President Joe Biden signed into law the Minority Business Development Act of 2021, mandating the rise of MBDA to a central government agency leader and prioritizing the success of America’s MBEs like never before. The legislation expands the organization’s reach and scope, including the recent Senate endorsement of Donald R. Cravins, Jr., MBDA’s first-ever Undersecretary.
