Shiba Inu SHIB/USD according to investigations by the cloud security platform PingSafe, the infrastructure may have been compromised.
What happened: Pingsafe’s research framework discovered a leaked Shiba Inu Amazon Web Services (AWS) account access in a public code repository, the cloud security platform’s founder, Anand Prakash, wrote in a blog post.
The PingSafe team determined that the reason behind the leaked credentials was a Shiba Inu developer setting AWS infrastructure keys in a public GitHub repository.
The credentials were “valid for two days, after which they became invalid”.
Why it matters: PingSafe believes that the disclosed credentials may have been misused by a hacker during those two days.
“This vulnerability has left the company’s AWS account highly exposed, which we believe has the potential to cause serious security breaches, including but not limited to theft of user funds, token misappropriation, disruption of services, etc.,” Prakash said.
The cloud security firm reportedly tried to contact the Shiba Inu team’s core developers via Twitter and Telegram, but received no response.
