After the death of the long reigning Queen Elizabeth II of England ether ETH/USD The NFT project, which has produced hundreds of commemorative artworks over the past two months, is now holding its final auction for the collection.
Beginning of July, QueenE started hosting auctions for a single Ethereum NFT image created in honor of Queen Elizabeth.
Fabio Sevathe author of Web3, and the unidentified mladen.eth apparently worked together to establish the project, which aimed to regularly release new procedurally produced works throughout Queen Elizabeth’s reign.

Project format Inspired by NFT project nouns
The concept was inspired by nounsDAOa state-of-the-art NFT project that gives buyers access to an exclusive club by auctioning off a single ether-based profile photo every day. QueenE took a look at this idea and added a royal touch by providing low-resolution photos of Queen Elizabeth II.
The QueenE auctions used to take place every few hours, but now they only take place once a day.
The 73rd NFT Is the last
After learning of Queen Elizabeth’s death at the age of 96 last night, the project announced that the current auction – for the 73rd Ethereum NFT in the collection – would be the last held as part of the original collection becomes.
QueenE’s Twitter account hinted at a future “Gen2” collection (@QueenEDao), but no details have been released yet.
“Once portraits of the Queen, every day… until now. Quiet in Ethereum forever,” the project’s profile explained on Twitter.
The final QueenE Gen1 NFT is currently bidding for 0.5 ETH or around $825 and the auction is scheduled to end around 4am ET tomorrow morning (Saturday).
The most expensive ETH sale price of all items was paid for the QueenE #23 of the collection, which sold for 1.9 ETH on July 27th. At the time, it was worth $3,275.
