
amazon inc AMZN founder jeff bezos struck Carnegie Mellon University associate professor who wanted Queen Elizabeth the second an ‘agonizing’ death after Britain’s longest reigning monarch passed away on Thursday.
What happened: Bezos, quoted from a tweet Uju Anya Das criticized the Queen, saying: “Is this someone supposedly working to make the world a better place? I do not think so. Wow.”
The second richest man in the world’s comments were prompted by Anya’s tweet, which read: “I hear the supreme monarch of a thieving, raping genocidal empire is finally dying. May her pain be excruciating.”
Twitter Inc TWTR removed the tweet from Anya soon after, saying it violated platform policies.
Shortly after Bezos’ tweet, however, Anya doubled down on the billionaire by criticizing him for his “merciless greed” and refusing to apologize.

“If anyone expects me to express anything other than contempt for the monarch who oversaw a government that supported the genocide that massacred and expelled half my family and the aftermath of which those alive today are still trying to overcome, you can imagine keep wanting a star. ” She said.
Anya, who joined Carnegie Mellon in 2021, was born in Nigeria, which gained independence from the United Kingdom in 1960 under the Queen’s Empire.
Meanwhile, Anya’s institution condemned her tweet, saying, “We do not condone the offensive and offensive messages that Uju Anya posted on her personal social media account today. Freedom of expression is at the core of higher education’s mission, however shared views absolutely do not represent the values of the institution nor the standards of discourse we seek to promote.”
