Shred Shed Live, the BeFastR event, will be held at the Giant for the last time this year (currently). Coventry Motofest, at the heart of the unique event that will see all of Coventry city center closed and a whole weekend dedicated to all things automotive. Between 10th and 11th September almost 300,000 people will flock to Britain’s ‘Motor City’ to experience everything from Land Rovers to scooters and everything in between. It even envisages the extensive ring road being closed to the public and open to hundreds of modern and historic racing cars and motorcycles, all doing their best to thrill the crowds at the competitive (and FIA sanctioned) time trial event .
Last week, the Farnborough International Exhibition Center hosted the reborn British Motor Show for four days. With more than 80,000 people walking through the gates throughout the event, entertainment was a must for the throngs of car fans and Cinch, the online car buying platform that swept the nation during lockdown, didn’t disappoint with a row of high- octane demonstrations took place to the delight of the crowd.
The Bridgestone Motorsport Arena was the scene of the most exciting events, as expected, and the unofficial highlight had to be the high-speed lateral ride, Shred Shed Live! The innovative idea behind the show is to merge the worlds of entertainment and precise drift driving. With Nathan Black at the helm, an acclaimed West End playwright, comedian and wrestling promoter, it was all but guaranteed that the crowd would be spellbound when 6 of the country’s highest quality drift cars took to the tarmac, piloted by some familiar faces in the world of precision and stunt driving, including Aims Hill, who many will recognize from the Top Gear tribute to Eddie Kidd, and Danny McGuire.
