NEW YORK, NY, Aug. 18, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — On August 13, the Foundation for Challenged Athletes (CAF) has raised over $2M on his Celebration of Heroes, Heart and Hope Gala in the Hamptons. On a stunning summer evening at Southampton’s Ludlow Farms, over 350 supporters, athletes, business leaders and donors mingled and welcomed the night to empower more people with physical challenges to pursue an active lifestyle. The extraordinary evening, hosted by Gala Chairs and Founders Scott and Emily Stackman, and honorees Richard and Christine Mack, showcased the healing and transformative power of sport within the community. For over 29 years, CAF has raised over $147 million and funded over 40,000 scholarships for athletes of all ages and abilities with physical challenges in all 50 states and over 52 countries.
“CAF’s Northeast Region has raised over $25 million to help people with physical disabilities get active and exercise,” he says Scott Stackman, Gala Founder, Committee Chair and CAF Board Member. “We are pleased to highlight the triumphs, achievements and passion of the CAF community.”
As the sun set over the water, the heartfelt evening featured tales of heroism, triumph over adversity, mentorship and community. Breezy Bochenek, CAF athlete and amputee, joined a dynamic 20-strong choir on stage for the unforgettable conclusion of “you will be found” by Dear Evan Hansen. Following the exceptional programme, the River Town Band and DJ Danja took guests to the dance floor for a night to remember in Southampton, celebrating the transformative power of sport.
