SEATTLE, July 28, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Building on the success of the past year, Larger charitiesin partnership with Mars Petcare, today announced its second year in business Extend a paw Campaign pledged to donate up to 2.7 million pet meals — an increase from last year’s total donation — to end hunger in shelters and animal shelters across the country. For every purchase of select Mars Petcare products at Walmart or Walmart.com from now through September 30, a meal will be donated to feed a hungry pet. Participating brands include IAMS™, PEDIGREE®, NUTRO™, TEMPTATIONS™ and GREENIES™, new to this year’s campaign.
“Pet food remains one of the largest operating expenses for animal welfare organizations, and that Extend a paw The campaign is providing much-needed help to these organizations across the country,” said Liz Baker, CEO of Greater Good Charities. “We are excited to bring the program back for a second year to give these organizations struggling with staffing issues and pet overpopulation not seen in years more flexibility to focus on additional ways to make life better of saving more pets.”
For each participating product purchased from Walmart during the Extend a paw campaign, Mars Petcare donates a meal to Greater Good Charities to be distributed to their network of animal welfare organizations. Mars Petcare will donate up to 2.7 million pet meals as part of the campaign, with a minimum of 1 million meal donation guarantee, to help pets in need.
