Here are the latest developments in the war in Ukraine:

– Ukrainian MPs support security purge –

In the biggest political shock since Russia’s invasion, Ukraine’s lawmakers are backing President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s shock decision to sack the country’s chief prosecutor and security chief.

Zelensky had asked Parliament to approve the layoffs less than 48 hours after he announced on Sunday that he would be suspending the two officers over what he called treasonous actions by dozens of staff under their supervision.

He said authorities are investigating over 650 cases of alleged collusion between officials and Russian forces.

– Cereals on the menu at the Putin-Erdogan meeting –

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan are due to meet in Tehran on Tuesday, with mechanisms to export grain from Ukraine high on the agenda.

Talks in the Iranian capital are aiming for an agreement that would unblock the export of Ukrainian grain from the Black Sea.

NATO member Turkey has used its good relations with both the Kremlin and Kyiv to try to broker an agreement on a safe route to get the grain through a Russian blockade of Ukrainian ports.

– Odessa hit –

Kyiv said Russian forces fired a barrage of cruise missiles into the area around Odessa’s southern port, injuring at least six people, including a child.

“One (rocket) was shot down by anti-aircraft guns. Six hit a village. As a result, several residential buildings and other facilities were destroyed and caught fire,” says the Ukrainian Presidency.

The Russian Defense Ministry claims the attacks on Odessa destroyed a stockpile of weapons supplied by the West.

– Blocked Russian channel back on the air –

Russian TV channel Dozhd (Rain), which was blocked in March as part of the Kremlin’s crackdown on independent media following the invasion of Ukraine, is again broadcasting from abroad.

The channel began broadcasting on its YouTube channel at 17:00 GMT on Monday with a newscast hosted by editor-in-chief and top presenter Tikhon Dzyadko.

Dozhd decided to shut down operations after authorities blocked its broadcasts, which contained critical coverage of the conflict.
