On the evening of July 15, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism announced that the Zhijin Cave scenic area in Bijie City, Guizhou Province was officially upgraded to a national AAAAA tourist attraction. This marks the entry of Bijie tourism into the “Double 5A” era, making Bijie the second city in Guizhou Province with two national AAAAA tourist attractions. “Zhijin Cave” and “Hundred Mile Azalea” are two AAAAA-level national tourist attractions and give a real name to the core tourism IP “Cave Heaven and Blessed Land – Sea of Flowers of Bijie”.
Zhijin Cave is located in Guanzhai Township, Zhijin County, with a complete karst system of multiple levels, systems, categories and shapes. The landscape and spatial shape of Zhijin Cave have the characteristics of “large”, “unique” and “complete”. Cave with the highest density of cave halls, the highest density of stalactites, the richest species and the rarest shapes in the world. With a good natural ecological environment, heavy historical and cultural deposits, and rich tourism resources, the scenic area has won the “Top 40 Chinese Tourist Attractions”, the “UNESCO World Geopark” and the first place in the list of “China’s most beautiful tourist caves” and other awards and is an important part of the special tourism products of “Colorful Guizhou Mountain Tourism Destination”.
According to information, since 2018, Zhijin Cave Scenic Area has been carrying out work on AAAAA declaration under the guidance of provincial and municipal culture and tourism departments, for which it has modernized many projects such as visitor center, sightseeing driveway, sewage treatment plant and intelligent tourism project, Signage and marking system, tourism toilet, construction of cave front landscape, renovation of cave lighting, improvement of viewpoint circuit route, etc., finally making it a success after four years.
