RICHMOND, Va., July 12, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Virginia Venture Partnersthe participation program Virginia Innovation Partnership Corporation (VIPC)today announced another investment in map island. Based in Blacksburg, Virginia, Card Isle is transforming the way greeting cards are sold in retail. Since VIPC’s initial investment in 2020, Card Isle has grown 120% year-over-year in custom greeting card sales by adding over 250 new partner retailers. Additionally, Card Isle’s initiative to enter the world of e-commerce grocery has gained significant momentum with Harmons Grocery, a grocery chain with 20 stores in Utah.
Even as the world goes increasingly digital, paper greeting cards are still a popular way to greet and connect with others to celebrate life’s special moments. However, it can be difficult to find a card that is perfect for the occasion and illustrates everything you want to say. Card Isle makes buying personal cards fun and accessible by empowering users with the ability to customize card messages and photos online. Once the perfect card is created, the card is printed on demand at their appropriate local distribution centers and included with the rest of the order.
“Through our recent fundraising round, Card Isle is well capitalized to bring our specialized greeting card expertise to massive new verticals such as grocery e-commerce. We have been thrilled with the response surrounding Mother’s Day 2022, which confirms strong demand for Card Isle products in grocery stores,” said Adam Donato, Card Isle Founder and CEO. “As a company founded and grown in Virginia, we are proud to have VIPC’s continued support for a follow-on investment.”
