Writer, director, composer and producer James Lay has an emotionally powerful sci-fi film titled The Other Side of Infinity, which will be released later this year. James, a multi-instrumentalist, engineer and producer, won the Los Angeles Music Awards in his earlier career as a record producer. James, previously a Sound Designer/Rerecording Mixer, has over 50 feature film credits with several #1 films. In recent years, James has been a professor of the Masters in Film program at the country’s largest private art and design university.
“The Other Side of Infinity” produced by Dr. Sabra Smith and Dr. Hollywood Access’ Gem Wiltshire, in association with Blue Voodoo Productions, is a film about the last day of the sun. It follows four storylines that move non-linearly in time, three time periods; today, 1960s and 1700s. A highly reflective commentary on today’s troubled world, delivered in an interwoven book-end narrative, this stylized film features powerful emotional performances from newcomers Katrina Kaevich, Bobby Lang, Belle Lundon and Michael Solomon, among others. The film features beautiful space visual FX sequences using brand new 3D technologies created by visual FX supervisors Maulik Majmudar and Colin Main and a powerful, impactful Atmos sound mix supervised and directed by director James Lay was mixed by Glen Matisoff.
James Lay’s next film Astral Plane Viking, an intergalactic sci-fi love affair, is now in development for a 2024 release.
