TORONTO, June 28, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — The virtual one-make cup of the Porsche Esports Sprint Challenge Canada has held its final race of the season at the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park. The third edition of the championship, hosted on iRacing, welcomed two top-tier winners: Phil Bouchard in a digital version of the 911 GT3 Cup car and Ian Gagnon-Renaud at the head of the 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport class.

As winners of the Porsche Esports Sprint Challenge Canada 2022, Bouchard and Gagnon-Renaud will have the opportunity to get behind the wheel of the brand’s sports cars on July 23.
Submitted sim racers could compete virtually on the iRacing.com platform and win prizes including getting behind the wheel of a Porsche on the track. The first of eight races began in March after an intense qualifying phase determined the country’s top 40 riders. Depending on the qualifying result, the racing drivers then either took the wheel of a digital version of the 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport mid-engine racing car or the latest 911 GT3 Cup Car.
This year, well-known Porsche partners took part in the virtual series to be aware of the virtual cars and the prizes they contain. TAG Heuer logos were featured during race broadcasts as the official timing partner, as well as on the front screen and rear spoiler of each virtual race car.
