TORONTO, ON, June 28, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Charmy Pet™, a Canadian pet food company, announced a Kickstarter campaign for its new line of freeze-dried pet foods. The new line is the first of its kind in North America and integrates holistic herbs from traditional Chinese medicine into a freeze-dried formula.
By adding natural herbs from traditional Chinese medicine to pet food, Charmy helps pet owners improve their dogs’ health without the need for artificial supplements and vitamins.
In collaboration with the University of Guelph and renowned animal nutritionist Dr. Kate Shoveller is Charmy at the forefront of conducting scientific research and verification of these particular herbs. A full research paper on the beneficial metabolic effects of these herbs on a pet’s body will be published at the end of the project for the public to see.
“I see promise in using some traditional Chinese herbs, such as ginseng and astragalus root, in dog food for their potential health benefits,” Julia Pezzali, a PhD student in Dr. Shoveller at the University of Guelph said. “Canine nutrition research is the critical next step for Charmy’s success!”
There is an uptick in pet owners looking for alternative and natural forms of therapy to improve their dog’s health. This new pet food combines the premium proteins of the West with powerful herbs of the East to give dogs everything they need to live long.
