NorthStar has been feeding hungry children for 10 years

Los Angeles, California, June 23, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — NorthStar move® Company, California’s leading provider of eco-luxury products, is pleased to present its 10th Annual Let’s broadcast Hunger Packing Food Drive. NorthStar Moving has teamed up again with compass real estate to collect much needed donations for the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank to feed hungry children in Los Angeles County.

“We launched our Let’s Send Hunger Packing food campaign to ensure kids have access to nutritious meals during the summer holidays,” said Laura McHolm, co-founder of NorthStar Moving. “In nine years, our food drive has raised nearly half a million meals. We won’t stop until every child is well fed. Today, one in four children in Los Angeles County doesn’t know where their next meal will come from. It’s just heartbreaking, kids here in our backyards are hungry. And with the rising cost of food, the need is even greater. We hope that our 10th food drive will be the biggest ever!”

In California, 2 million children live in low-income households affected by hunger. Some children only get a meal at school. When school is canceled over the summer, families turn to a blackboard for support. However, Tafeln often report a drop in donations during the summer months. Due to the rise in inflation, food banks are now paying more for groceries, transportation and distribution.

“While life is beginning to look normal for some, many of our neighbors are still feeling the economic impact of the pandemic and the current surge in inflation,” said Michael Flood, President and CEO of the LA Regional Food Bank. “Last year, the NorthStar fundraiser Let’s Send Hunger Packing raised more than 165,000 meals for our neighbors in need, and we are grateful for their support again this year as the need in our community remains great.”

The 10th Annual Let’s broadcast Hunger Packing Food Drive is completely online and will run until July 20, 2022….
