Last week, the IT ministry held a meeting with the freelancers pushing them for registration. But IT freelancers were not prepared to adopt the government’s new policy. All e-workers hesitated to get registered, evading paying tax. Officials wanted to include the freelancing network in the national database by regularizing them. But remote workers rejected adding in the tax network—freelancers earned by completing clients’ tasks through internet facilities without government intervention. In the pandemic, digital learning increased multiple folds as youth acquired the skills according to the market demand.
PM praised the talent of Pakistani youth at the launching ceremony of the E-TIJARAT portal. The system does not allow the youth to excel in their capabilities. PM khan assured the youth about the complete assistance from the government for bringing the IT revolution into the country. Freelancers should support the country by decreasing the trade gap.
“PM launches the E-TIJARAT portal.”
“This is the technology revolution. The youth should in no way miss it. We expect the country’s IT exports to reach $50 billion in a few years,” PM said.
The countries that supported the IT sector in the 20th century are now leading this sector globally, like America. Microsoft tech company leads the IT sector by providing services and equipment due to its innovation advancement. Bill Gates, the founder of Microsoft, visited Pakistan at the special invitation of Imran Khan. PM desired to involve Bill Gates in the IT sector of Pakistan due to his achievements and services to the IT sector.
At the launching ceremony, Imran khan admired the female freelancer of Gilgit, signaling a ray of hope for the women of GB. Freelancing networks provide women with earning platforms without any interference of risks related to gender. The value of e-commerce in Pakistan is $4 billion, while it reaches $30 trillion in the world.
Turkish Delegation
Mr. Khan held a meeting with the chief of the Presidency of Religious Affairs of Turkey, Dr. Ali Erbas, to develop the linkages between the two countries. Pakistani premier lauded Turkey for its support of Kashmir and Islamophobia.
UNICEF Director
PM discussed the current situation of Afghanistan, focusing on the humanitarian condition of people. Pakistan is coordinating with the international organization to prevent Afghanistan from collapsing. UN stressed the Americans for releasing the assets of Afghan people.
The relief from the tax to freelancers will govern the progress in the IT sector. Government should design the pathway for online payments for Pakistani freelancers. The government’s involvement in the freelancing network will disturb the e-commerce business.
