Andrew Boyd is the author of the book the Castle Rock Kingdom, which was released on all major platforms like Amazon and Barnes on the 1st of July, 2021.
About the book
In his book the Castle Rock Kingdom, author Andrew Boyd discusses that the teenage years of any young adult’s life are the most difficult to maneuver because of the lack of guidance by their guardians.
In his book, Boyd portrays his concerns through 7 children, all at the age where they experience the world in a previously unknown light. In his book, he shows the children being exposed to a dangerous world full of uncertainty and anxiety, triggering situations to which the kids have no clue how to handle. Growing up, children are only shown the good in the world and all its constituents. They are shielded from the world’s harsh reality and what is in store for them in the future.
Boyd thinks of it as a flawed logic and tries to express with his book the many difficulties faced by children because of the poor efforts in better preparing them for the real world. He shows the seven children experiencing several completely new situations, like discovering drugs, expiring the feeling of love, experiencing peer pressure, and having to make the difficult choices between right and wrong. Boyd addresses all the problems a general adult faces during their younger years but has become hazy and forgotten over time.
As time moves on, the severeness of a problem or issue becomes hazy in one’s mind, and they think of it as a minor inconvenience in front of their present issues and challenges. However, Boyd urges his audience to understand that the difference between their problems now and back when they were young is only the experience that helped them. As an adult, a person has experienced a lot of what the present society and world have to offer and is better prepared through the teachings of the time. However, a child has neither the experience nor the specific guidance that would help them easily proceed in life’s ultimate maze.
Through his book, Boyd wants his readers to understand that the mistakes made do not define the person they become growing up. Every wound heals after a period of time. Similarly, every grim situation passes, and a new day comes. A person needs to learn from their mistakes and try not to repeat them in the future.
