Fans of Paris Hilton would soon be able to see her avatar sliving on Roblox. The TV personality-entrepreneur-influencer-podcaster will add “gamer” to her CV by launching Paris World: an outpost on the Roblox gaming platform that will allow her fans to explore a stylized environment that revolves around her.
Paris World officially goes live on 6 Oct on Roblox and is described as “a virtual oasis of fun, possibility and, of course, #sliving” (a term coined by Hilton herself by fusing “slaying” and “living my best life”). The new gaming experiences in the Paris World include huge DJ stages, Paris’ own house, a private jet, a private yacht, Paris’ personal island, and a zoo.
Fans will have the option to join Paris in the kitchen prepping a meal, (a nod to her new Netflix show: Cooking with Paris), relax with Paris at the beach, or DJing a virtual festival with Paris.
Hilton said in a statement “Roblox is such an amazing gaming platform to be a part of and it’s so exciting to be launching Paris World. I can’t wait for my fans, new users, and the gaming community to experience my metaverse.”
Online-radio platform Dash Radio’s DXSH gaming studio division will produce all the events and programming inside the Paris World experience. In the words of Dash founder DJ Skee, DXSH aims to build “a one-of-a-kind experience that mirrors events happening IRL to the OG influencer, Paris Hilton, into the metaverse that all can experience. We can’t wait for users to see all of the unique events, themes, and takeovers we have planned each week that we believe will launch a new style of entertainment experiences.” with Paris World.
Hilton tweeted a teaser clip with a throbbing EDM soundtrack to give an idea of what Paris World will look like. Roblox also released some sneak-peek images of Paris World online.
Roblox counts more than 200 million monthly active users and lets players interact with each other in user-generated 3D worlds. Roblox is free to play and can be downloaded on iOS and Android smartphones, tablets, computers, Xbox One, Oculus Rift, and HTC Vive. As per the available statistics, daily active users spend an average of 156 minutes (2.6) hours per day in a game on Roblox.
Roblox has stepped up its efforts to recruit music artists and entertainment brands to its platform in recent months. Popular rock group Twenty One Pilots stages an interactive virtual convert on the platform on 17 September, following launch events by KSI, Zara Larsson, and Ava Max. Netflix also teemed with Roblox this summer to launch the mall from “Stranger Things” on the game platform.
The company which went public in an IPO in March, also announced a deal this week with the National Music Publishers’ Association that settled the NMPA’s $200 million copyright infringement lawsuits. This settlement will enable all eligible NMPA publishers to negotiate new licensing deals with Roblox.
