Philadelphia, PA – October 6, 2020 -chCamp Endeavor and Philly Esports announced today the launch of an esports program serving two Philadelphia elementary schools. A six-week pilot program will bring together 80+ local charter school students with esports professionals in an online tournament designed to encourage active participation in the students’ science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) curriculum.

The six-week Mario Kart esports tournament will begin Monday, October 12. Elementary school students from two charter schools will compete in small, weekly tournaments and interact with professional esports mentors. Sixty students will qualify for a live final event. A $500 grand prize will be awarded to the tournament champion. Students who meet required academic and attendance goals will be sponsored by Camp Endeavor for all tournament entrance fees. Philly Esports will host the e-gaming tournament and provide virtual coaching opportunities.

“Participation in the esports tournament is being offered as a reward for students who have been working hard at the start of the fall semester during a transition to new virtual learning models,” said Adrian Fields, founder, Camp Endeavor. “Camp Endeavor has connected more than 1,000 students to hands-on learning opportunities designed to build STEM-based career skills since we started. We look forward to working with Philly Esports to launch this pilot program and grow participation to even more schools very soon.”

“We are honored to be working with Endeavor Organization and excited about the chance to bring esports opportunities to local kids in a supportive and safe virtual environment,” said Adam Nelson, CEO, Philly Esports. “Philly Esports thrives on building a competitive gaming community that is welcoming to all players and spectators. Our team is looking forward to sharing more about our industry with these local kids and helping schools reward students for their hard work during a very challenging time.”
