On November 1, 2019, CLEAR Scoliosis Institute launched its Fellowship and Senior Fellowship program to its network of 30 plus chiropractors trained in advanced alternative non-surgical scoliosis treatment. Today, CLEAR Scoliosis Institute honors Dr. Dio Kim as the first CLEAR Fellow and Dr. Andrew Strauss and Dr. Tony Nalda as the first CLEAR Senior Fellows.
To qualify for the CLEAR Fellowship or Senior Fellowship Program, a doctor must hold a certification or have knowledge, training, and continued education in eight different areas – technique, bracing, scoliosis exercise, diagnostics, management, presentation, professional experience, and educational scoliosis seminars.
When it comes to the development of CLEAR’s Fellowship and Senior Fellowship Programs, the Chairman of CLEAR’s Board of Directors and first Senior Fellow, Dr. Tony Nalda, states, “There are many good training methods and protocols in chiropractic. Rather than segregate CLEAR from the profession, we wanted to unite with the profession, making a statement that educational advancement is always a good thing. We encourage doctors to receive training from other organizations that are in alignment with CLEAR to further sharpen their skillset and expertise as a chiropractor.”
Dr. Dio Kim, who practices in Tustin, CA, was the first to submit his fellowship application. Dr. Dio specializes in scoliosis, sports, and pediatric chiropractic. He has been in practice since 2002 and CLEAR Certified since 2011. Amongst his many certifications allowing him to be recognized as a CLEAR Fellow are the COX Technic, Kinesio Taping, ScoliBrace, Scientific Exercise Approach to Scoliosis (SEAS) Level 1, and many more.
Dr. Andrew Strauss graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, IA in 1982 and became CLEAR Certified in 2008. He has been actively engaged in scoliosis treatment for over 37 years, authored two books, and is the Vice Chairman of CLEAR’s Board of Directors. His many certifications include SEAS Level 1 and 2, Yoga for Scoliosis, ScoliBrace, and many more. Dr. Strauss is also a graduate of the ISICO World Masters of Scoliosis.
Dr. Tony Nalda has been in practice for over 20 years. He completed his CLEAR Intensive Certification in 2008 and holds additional certifications in conservative scoliosis treatment, such as SEAS Level 1 and 2, ScoliBrace, Digital Motion X-Ray, and Chiropractic BioPhysics (CBP) amongst other advanced certifications. He was one of the first doctors to receive World Masters Certification from ISICO. Dr. Nalda’s over 140 hours of teaching continuing education are what brings him to the level of being the first CLEAR Senior Fellow.

CLEAR Scoliosis Institute is a nonprofit organization for scoliosis patients who are searching for alternative, non-surgical treatment options that provide pain relief and correct posture. CLEAR has developed an innovative and specialized chiropractic treatment protocol that improves scoliosis, reduces chronic pain, and alleviates related health conditions through customized treatment plans that don’t include surgery, drugs, injections, and other invasive medical procedures or equipment.
The CLEAR approach to treating scoliosis involves an exercise-based protocol where patients learn custom-designed exercises they can do in the comfort of their homes. After the custom exercise program is developed, patients are monitored in a CLEAR Scoliosis Center. Although research is ongoing, over 95% of patients report positive results after treatment.
CLEAR educates chiropractic professionals and does research on innovative scoliosis treatment without surgery. CLEAR is an acronym standing for Chiropractic Leadership, Educational Advancement, and Research.
