It’s time to celebrate in Jefferson, Texas with the annual Krewe of Hebe Mardi Gras Upriver & Crawfish Boil! Held Feb. 9th – 11th, this exciting festival includes various artisan vendors set up in The Courtyard selling handcrafted items, as well as live entertainment, parades and more. O’Farrell Country Vineyards & Red Road Vineyard & Winery will be in attendance selling their wonderful wines and the Chow Time Food Truck will deliver tasty crawdads on Friday & Saturday with their Crawfish Boil. The City of Jefferson is a proud sponsor of this annual event and invites you to celebrate Mardi Gras in historic fashion in Jefferson, Texas.
Festival wristbands are $10 each and are available at the event entrance or in the souvenir booth, starting Friday, Feb. 9th. The party starts at 7 p.m. with What the Funk performing on the main stage with the Doo Dah Parade happening simultaneously. On Saturday, the fun starts at 11 a.m. with Jay-B and the Zydeco Posse, followed by Texas music favorites Bri Bagwell, Kody West and Dusty Boots. Bikers and motorcycle enthusiasts don’t miss the Motorcycle Parade at 1:45 p.m. followed by the Grande Parade at 2 p.m.
The family fun of the Mardi Gras celebration continues on Sunday, Feb. 11th with the Children’s Parade at 2 pm, the Paws & Claws Parade immediately following, as well as costume contests for Children, Ugly Dog, Pet Look-Alike and Best Pet Costume.
“Mardi Gras Upriver is one of the greatest and longest standing traditions in Jefferson, Texas,” Kevin Godfrey, Tourism Director for the City of Jefferson said. “We have events for all ages including live music, a carnival, plus all of the restaurants and businesses are having events daily. If you are looking for a great time for large groups or your family, Jefferson, Texas is the place to be February 9th -11th,” Godfrey said.
