In 2015, Karen was awarded a Taylor’s Gift Outlive Yourself Award for her ability to connect the dots – whether it’s people, places or things – to help make the world better than she found it. Today, everyone who walks through the door of a Hartman Terilli renovation will be immediately greeted with the most prominent feature of the home – a door painted in Taylor Blue – to bring awareness to Taylor’s Gift Foundation, a national nonprofit dedicated to the lifesaving effort of increasing organ donor registrations and financially assisting families touched by organ donation. In the home, homebuyers will find a brochure with the story behind the door. With every home sold, Hartman Terilli makes a $500 donation to Taylor’s Gift Foundation.
“I think it’s important to illustrate in real life how easy it is to make a difference. It was an easy decision to paint the doors of our remodels Taylor Blue,” Karen says. “By painting the door Taylor Blue, we touched tons of people with the message, sold a house and raised money for the cause, all by simply connecting the dots.”
