October 4th, 2015 (DALLAS): Governor Inc. today announced that it has rolled out Governor Version 3.0, a revolutionary cloud ‘platform as a service’ (PaaS) web development suite to 600 exclusive beta customers. This platform version represents an order of magnitude leap in the way websites can be built, scaled, and managed for design agencies, web development firms, and independent web developers alike. The platform is designed to allow websites to scale from a simple home page to an enterprise class system that includes a wide variety of API’s so that third party integration is seamless.

It is a true cloud content management system (CMS) from the ground up using a variety of tools designed to improve functionality and to save time and money for both developers and designers. Governor 3.0 is the first CMS to be offered as a ‘platform as a service’ to the industry. Current national and local companies using the platform include; The Dallas Arboretum, Raising Canes, Texas Christian University (TCU), Conoco Phillips, and Texas A&M Traditions to name a few.

“Our designers and engineers as well as the rest our team have worked tirelessly to bring this technological leap to life,” stated CEO Travis McElroy. “Governor solves so many problems web professionals encounter every day. We are very excited to let our Beta customers get started on our new platform.”

CTO Mark Bashansci explained, “The developmental differences between Governor and standard development practices are substantial. Governor lets developers focus on building beautiful websites instead of dealing with management headaches like security, backups, databases, installs, et cetera. Developers can add rich functionality to their websites and provide enormous value to their customers with just a few keystrokes.

Governor originally planned for 100 beta customers, but after presenting at SXSW in Austin and SXSW V2V in Las Vegas earlier this year, intense demand for participation in the beta program required the program to be increased to accommodate up to 1,000.  The program currently has approximately 600 beta customer registrations.
