Greenville, TX – Clinical research organization Quest Life Sciences has come under fire over issues concerning its clinical trials. News Inferno reported that India based organization has been reprimanded by the World Health Organization over issues related to a trial of HIV medications.

One of the alleged issues was electrocardiograms (ECGs) being duplicates for two-thirds of the patients. Reuters quotes the WHO as stating of the issue, “Subject details … and dates had been changed by the company, in the majority of cases, to make the ECGs appear as if they were from each of the different subjects.”

A notice of concern was recently issued to Quest by the United Nations health agency. As noted in the report, the news comes after another India-based company, GVK Biosciences, was the subject of controversy, leading to concerns about the quality of genetic drugs produced in the country.
