King Mohammed VI To Make Another Tour In Sub-Saharan Africa

HM King Mohammed VI is due to start a new tour of West Africa on May 20, 2015 which will lead him to the Republic of Senegal, the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire and the Republic of Gabon. The souvereign will also pay an official visit to the Republic of Guinea-Bissau.

According to a communiqué of the royal palace, released this Monday, the sovereign will hold official talks with his counterparts and will chair the signing of bilateral agreements ceremonies,  the launch of cooperation projects on human development and exchange of experiences and strengthening economic partnerships.

This will be the sovereign’s third Africans round these last three years in an effort to push for south-south cooperation based on human development, economic and security stability.

During his last African tour in 2014, King Mohammed VI and Gabonese President, Ali Bongo Ondimba, signed in Libervillle, 24 agreements in different sectors further strengthening the links between the two countries. 

The king also chaired, with Guinean President Alpha Condé in Conakry, the signing ceremony of a cooperation agreement between Moroccan employers’ organization CGEM) and its Guinean counterpart “Alliance patronal”. These agreements, which cover various sectors such as agriculture, health, housing, vocational training, finance and banking, new technologies, transport and tourism, aim at strengthening the legal framework for cooperation between the two countries.

During the same royal visit to sub-Saharan Africa, His Majesty chaired, along with Malian president Ibrahim Boubacar Keita at the Koulouba presidential palace in Bamako, the signing ceremony of seventeen bilateral cooperation agreements in different areas.

The current visit will build on the previous ones to follow up on progress and engage in new levels of cooperation.
