As part of their commitment to the community, Joe’s Pizza & Pasta is partnering with the Relay for Life of Tamarac – North Lauderdale and the American Cancer Society (ACS) to help raise funds and generate awareness for cancer research.
To help with the effort, Joe’s Pizza & Pasta, located at 1410 Coral Ridge Drive in Coral Springs, is hosting a special event on Wednesday, April 10th during which 50% of its total event sales from 5 p.m. until closing will be donated to the “Pop Rocks!” team of the Relay for Life of Tamarac – North Lauderdale.
Throughout the evening, guests are invited to dine at Joe’s Pizza and Pasta and support a great cause. Information about the Tamarac – North Lauderdale Relay for Life, the American Cancer Society and the important work of its foundations and community outreach will be available.
Guests will also meet Katherine Lewis – the dynamic seven-year old team captain of “Pop Rocks” – who named the team after her great uncle, Bob “Pop” Dwyer, who unfortunately did not survive his battle with cancer.
“We’re proud to support Team Pop Rocks!” stated Joe Parisotti, owner of Joe’s Pizza & Pasta. “Giving back to the community through the Tamarac – North Lauderdale Relay for Life is an important part of our business philosophy.”
The April team meeting will also be held. Be among those learning about team fundraising challenges and event logistics. Meetings are open to all team members and those interested in learning more about Relay for Life and the American Cancer Society.
“It’s amazing to think that millions of people will be diagnosed with cancer this year. Someone close to you or me may be one of them,” stated event chairwoman Julie Fishman. “Our Relay for Life fundraiser is not only a way to join in the fight against cancer, but it’s also a way to inspire hope by raising funds and awareness to help those facing the disease.”
