Employment agency EmptyLemon has been shortlisted for a clutch of prizes at the prestigious Onrec Awards 2013, which celebrates the best and brightest in the UK’s online recruitment industry.
EmptyLemon is in contention for a total of four awards – the generalist creative online marketing award, the generalist technical innovation award, newcomer of the year and unsung hero of the year. The prizes will be handed out at a glittering ceremony due to take place at the Grange St Paul’s Hotel in London on March 21st. More than 350 people attended last year’s event and it is hoped that the 2013 instalment will be even bigger and better.
“The Onrec Awards carry real clout in the online recruitment world, so to be shortlisted for four of them is a real honour,” said Andrew Kelly, Development Manager at EmptyLemon. “The EmptyLemon team had an incredible year in 2012 and this really tops it off in fine style. The tongue-in-cheek Elemenator Flash game – which allows users to get their own back on dodgy employment consultants by dropping them into a pool filled with piranha, crocodiles and sharks – is an embodiment of this light-hearted approach, and it is this which has earned the agency a place on the generalist creative shortlist.
Initially starting out as an IT jobs specialist, EmptyLemon has since branched out to become the biggest direct employer jobs board in Britain, listing a variety of different vacancies – including data analyst jobs – with Amazon and Google UK jobs among those advertised. The website also includes a regularly-updated news section and a blog providing job hunters with helpful career advice.
