To provide some new and exciting lunchtime choices for customers, The Co-operative Food has introduced two new fresh meal pots into its own-brand Food to Go range.
Providing warming yet healthy lunches or quick and easy dinners for hungry customers, the new meal pots are great for taking back to the office and popping in the microwave for a tasty treat.
Get well on your way to your “5-a-day” with The Co-operative Vegetable Arrabiata Pasta meal pot, 350g, which has three of your daily target, as well as green “traffic light” symbols for fat, saturates, salt and sugar, and a Co-operative low fat “green dot” logo, which indicate that the pot is healthier option. Suitable for both vegetarians and vegans, this delicious meal pot combines orechiette pasta in a spicy tomato sauce with roasted red and yellow peppers, red onion, courgette and rocket.
For a touch of spice, try The Co-operative Red Thai Chicken Curry and Rice meal pot, 400g. Marinated chicken is tossed with fresh broccoli, baby corn and red and yellow peppers in a fragrant red Thai sauce with jasmine rice. The chicken is 100% British and the delicious pot contains two of your “5-a-day” portions. With green “traffic light” symbols for fat, saturates and sugars, this healthy choice also has a “low fat” green dot logo.
The meal pots are now available in selected Co-operative food stores nationwide. For further information on local stores and The Co-operative’s product range and deals, shoppers can visit www.co-operativefood.co.uk or contact The Co-operative Customer Careline on (freephone) 0800 0686 727.
