Homewood Mayor, Mayor Richard Hofeld, will attend the ribbon cutting ceremony. The public is invited to tour their new space and crematory at 17859 Bretz Dr., Homewood, IL 60430 (nearest intersection is Halsted and Ridge Road, located just east of Halsted and north of Ridge). You can also meet Gerald Sullivan, president and owner of the family- run business.
Gerald started Cremation Society of Illinois in Park Forest in 1983. Since then he has expanded to 10 locations in and around the Chicagoland area. Cremation Society of Illinois provides the cremation service, which may be accompanied by a visitation, a full funeral and burial of the cremated remains or a simple memorial service. With over 35 years of experience, Gerald Sullivan has served as a board member on many trade organizations. In 2011, he was re-elected as president of the International Cremation Federation to serve his second term. He is the first American president to serve on their board.
