Election Conspiracy Novel Smoulders with Suspense

A CIC is charged to find the leader of a conspiracy to take over the government. The team up to saves the candidates. But can they stop a nuclear attack on DC.

10/30/2012 (press release: wmyrral) // Miami Gardens, Florida, USA // Larry Winebrenner

Could a committed renegade faction—well-placed, well-financed, and well-motivated—take steps to steal an election through nefarious means? The novel makes a case for an affirmative reply. We see the process of conspiracy through the eyes of a major participant in the novel.

A veteran marine with a below-the-knee amputation is swept into the conspiracy by a mistaken attack on a van he was in. He miraculously escaped, and his beloved wife and best friends were destroyed. Almost immediately he discovers that escaping death from the attack on the van is not equivalent to escaping death from the attackers.

– They have access to satellite videos of the attack.

– “Conspiracy” is considered something of a joke by governmental authorities.

– The conspirators tentacles reach deep—even into a mission for the homeless

– The conspirators will stop at nothing to destroy him.

Only after losing his wife and a woman helping him avoid capture did the veteran marine turn. He had special services training for extracting valuable assets from behind enemy lines. He began using these skills, and the help of a congressional investigating committee chair—a beautiful woman resembling his dead wife—to search out the organizational head of the conspiracy.

The author, Dr. Larry Winebrenner, said of the book, “When I finished writing this book, I felt that I had created a fairly good read. But when I received a telephone call from the young couple I’d given the manuscript for reader response, and the wife said, ‘We stayed up all night reading it to each other because we wanted to know how it was going to end,’ I knew I’d struck a vein.”

(Additional comments on the book can be read or made on the home page located at http://To-Steal-an-Election.com/reviews )

Dr. Winebrenner knows about secret military matters. He had to be cleared for Secret to become an advanced underseas weapons technician in the navy. It was the baby carrier he was assigned to that transported the nuclear device tested on Enewetak Atoll. More than that, he served on various confidential committees while professor at Miami Dade College for 33 years. He is also an ordained clergy in the United Methodist Church. He and his wife live in Miami Gardens FL.

Many will try to draw some parallel between this novel and the 2012 presidential election. There is no such connection. Fiction is fiction and facts are facts. Sometimes their paths cross. That doesn’t determine relationship between the two. The book is a suspense novel. It is also a love story, a story of father–son reconciliation, an exploration into racial barriers and the breakdown of those barriers. Once a reader begins this book, whatever notions held before the reading will soon be swallowed up by the story. It’s that good.
