Members of the organization of Professional Firefighters/Paramedics of Palm Beach County, Inc. have switched sides in the District One School Board race and enthusiastically endorsed candidate Mike Murgio.
In an October 16 letter, the group withdrew its previous endorsement of Murgio’s opponent, Christine Jax, and expressed its strong support of Murgio. The letter stated, “You have demonstrated you can lead and you are not afraid to do so. The citizens of Palm Beach County will be lucky to have someone work tirelessly for their interests. You have proven to be hard working, astute, and responsive.”
Murgio responded that he is especially honored to receive this endorsement. “These are real-life heroes who are always there to protect the citizens of Palm Beach County and risk their lives each day to ensure our safety. The endorsement of this organization means a great deal to me in demonstrating the widespread support I have gained from our community.”
