The vibrant colors of autumn can be a strong motivator for redecorating at home, and Mohawk flooring wants Pinterest users to embrace both the season and its style with its Fall For Mohawk contest. Through Nov. 6, fans that start a Pinterest board that is tagged #Fall4Mohawk and includes at least five images from the flooring manufacturer can be entered for a chance to win up to $500.
Those interested in Mohawk’s fall contest are asked to visit www.mohawkflooring.com/fallformohawk/ to first follow the brand on Pinterest and then pin a Fall For Mohawk logo to their newly created board. Next, participants fill out a short registration form and browse through a variety of fall-themed images to find their five pins, choosing from quotes, recipes, crafts and lifestyle photos featuring Mohawk products.
“Fall is probably the most picturesque of the seasons, particularly in New England, and Mohawk is trying to tap into the enthusiasm on Pinterest for this time of year,” said Barry Greenberg, sales manager of A.J. Rose Carpets & Flooring, a Greater Boston flooring store. “That social network is perfect for Mohawk’s products, not only because of the visual element, but because roughly 70 percent of Pinterest users are women, and they are often the decision-makers when it comes to interior design.”
One high-profile woman in particular, TV personality Rachael Ray, recently turned to Mohawk to outfit the new filming location for her nationally syndicated talk show. As the premium flooring partner for the Rachael Ray show’s New York City studio, Mohawk provided a number of its products, including carpet, hardwood and laminate.
Led by Mohawk spokesperson and HGTV designer Taniya Nayak, the Rachael Ray studio project required the creation of four themed dressing rooms. One of the rooms, the larger Cape Cod Suite, serves double duty as a conference space, featuring two Mohawk bound carpet rugs in Luxury Square styling, as well as the brand’s Somerville hardwood for a unique wall design. Meanwhile, the Aspen Lodge dressing space also acts as a green room, incorporating Mohawk’s Wear-Dated carpet, in addition to floor and wall applications of its Boulevard laminate.
Focusing on elegance and intimacy to appeal to celebrity guests, Nayak used the Sable Rosewood style of Mohawk’s Ellington laminate to create the right atmosphere in the Boutique Hotel dressing room. Lastly, the Mid-Century Modern dressing room gives off a livelier charm, smoothly tying together bright colors with the use of Honey Blonde Maple in the manufacturer’s Kincade laminate.
“We’ve seen our customers create a range of sophisticated styles in their homes using the Mohawk products that we offer, so it’s no surprise that the flooring is also being used to cater to celebrities,” added Greenberg. “Whether they are looking for carpet, hardwood or laminate, we find that our buyers frequently go with Mohawk to really complete the look and feel that they’re going for in a room.”
