Desirable Old Town Key West Real Estate Fetching Higher Prices In 2012 According To Local REALTOR(R)

Sean Farrer, a top Key West Florida REALTOR(R), says that 2012 saw a continuation of a trend toward rising prices on Old Town Key West homes.

/EINPresswire.com/ KEY WEST, Fla. – Sean Farrer, one of Key West Florida’s top real estate agents, says that 2012 saw a continuation of a trend toward increasing prices for Old Town Key West properties.

According to Farrer, prices in Old Town have increased on average 1.8% between 2011 and 2012. He says that in a national real estate market where prices are generally easing, this illustrates that not all markets are alike.

“Key West is really as unique a real estate market as it is a unique destination for tourism. We have a thriving based of domestic and international seasonal residents, and many of those decide to live here year-round ever a couple of seasons.”

Farrer says that demand is usually highest for waterfront properties and Old Town Key West homes for sale.

“Old Town Key West is a very charming place to live. It’s very easy to get to know your neighbors, because you literally see them everyday in the local pub, or the grocery store, or on the beach.”

He says it’s fun to see new residents who have never experienced a friendly small town atmosphere like Key West adjust to laid back island culture of the community.

He notes that although home prices have risen in the past year, they are still very reasonable, with prices generally starting at the $200,000 price point.

“With over 150 active listings currently, there are some wonderful Old Town homes available in the $300-500,000 price range. Luxury Old Town homes currently range from $1 million to $9.6 million.”
