Despite having a limited release, the Chevy Spark is still seeing impressive sales figures.

Simply judging from sales figures around the country, the Spark is sure to be a hot seller when it hits the floor at Pat McGrath Chevyland.
Despite a slim marketing push, the Spark was the fastest selling car during this last July according to Edmunds.com, with only a six day average turnover from when they arrived at the dealership to when they were sold, compared to the industry standard of 57 days. This fast turnover can be credited to drivers’ desire for a gas-smart, superbly priced vehicle with a small enough frame to weave through city traffic and fit into the smallest of parking spaces.
In July, the Spark sold 1,460 units, and just this last month, another 2,630 units were sold. GM had estimated sales at only about 1,900, while some only estimated 500 to 1,000 units. The high numbers are a sure sign that drivers like the price and are looking for more fuel efficient vehicles. The Spark is Chevy’s lowest priced vehicle, with packages starting at only $12,995. It would be difficult to spend more than $17,000, even on the most feature-loaded trims.
The 84-hp 1.25L four-cylinder engine provides more than enough zip for the Spark to get up the on-ramp and onto the freeway. The handling is superb, with a naturally sharp turn radius. Unsurprisingly, the Spark’s fuel economy is outstanding, getting an incredible 32/38mpg rating with a manual transmission, and 28/37mpg with an automatic.
Many drivers may be more comfortable with the build of the Spark than something like the petite Smart Car. The Spark is about the size of the new Fiat 500 and has a surprising amount of headroom, even for taller drivers. All in all, the Spark still has that tough Chevy spirit drivers love so much.
