Paid online surveys blog SurveySpencer.com recently overhauled its system for ranking the top surveys for money panels. The site reports that the new criteria is a more accurate indicator of the experience that a new user will have with the survey panel.
Site head and CEO Spencer Mitchell notes that the new ranking system is different from the original as it attempt to look at a survey panel from someone new to online surveys for money: “In the past we ranked our panels based on the experience that I and the rest of the Survey Spencer staff had with a panel. However, in the weeks since we rolled out our reviews we received several emails from people complaining that they weren’t big fans of our top rated panels. After reviewing our top panels a bit more closely, we realized that a few of them were less than ideal for amateur survey for money panelists. That’s when we decided to roll out a new set of standards for how we rate our panels.”
Spencer adds that the new criteria is similar to the old system, only that it puts more weight on factors such as ease of use and payment times. According to the site team, people that are just starting out with paid online surveys usually want to receive their first payment quickly –a consideration that is much less important for people that have been taking paid surveys for years. Also, new panelists may not understand how to use a survey panel’s interface –which is especially difficult as most people new to surveys for money join multiple panels in a short period of time.
How has the new system shaken up the rankings? Mitchell notes that most of their top fix panels have remained firmly in place, although they do have a new number one recommended survey panel: I-Say by Ipsos: “Using our original system, I-Say was ranked at #2. Considering that it pays quickly and is a cinch to use, we now have it as #1. Another highly respected survey panel, MySurvey.com, has moved down one notch to #2. The rest of the top six panels are right where they were before. Most of the volatility was at the lower end of our list.”
People that want to view the new top 10 should go to SurveySpencer.com.
