Thomas Cook Tours is offering a discount of £200 on an escorted tour of South Africa’s Cape Town and the Garden Route, departing on 7 October 2012.
The usual price of the agent’s “Cape Town & The Glorious Garden Route” tour is £2365, the discount as such taking the price to £2165.
Included in the tour price are
• transport to and from London Heathrow and return flights to Cape Town on South African Airways
• arrival in Cape Town, followed by a tour of the surrounding winelands, including Franchshoek and Paarl, and a night among the vineyards in Stellenbosch
• a night in Oudtshoorn, with visits to the world-famous Cango Caves and an ostrich farm
• two nights in Knysna, with a cruise on Knysna Lagoon and a visit to the Featherbed Nature Reserve, which overlooks “The Heads”, where dramatic cliffs guard the entrance to the lagoon from the surging Indian ocean
• a road trip via Plettenberg Bay to the indigenous forest of the Tsitsikamma National Park, with a visit to a monkey sanctuary en route, and return to Knysna
• return trip to Cape Town via George, Mossel Bay and the seaside village of Hermanus
• three nights in Cape Town, with a tour of the Peninsula – including a visit to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve – and a cable car ride to the top of Table Mountain
Tour members will also be given the option of extending the tour by spending two nights at the four-star Long Lee Manor in Shamwari Private Game Reserve, near Port Elizabeth.
