Texas Governor Rick Perry Plans To Visit Families Of Fallen Soldiers

/EINPresswire.com/Governor Perry will make an appearance at Allaso Ranch on Thursday, Aug 9th, to visit with families of fallen soldiers who are being hosted by Fellowship Church for a week-long retreat.

From August 5-August 9, Pastor Ed Young, Fellowship Church and Allaso Ranch are honoring several fallen military heroes and their families. Allaso Ranch is a state-of-the-art summer camp and retreat center located outside of Hawkins, TX and is owned and operated by Fellowship Church.

The purpose of the week- long retreat is to encourage and serve these Gold Star families, allowing them to get away, relax and have fun together. On the final day of the week-long retreat, Governor Perry is planning a visit to Allaso Ranch to spend time with these families, as well as visit with Debbie Lee, founder of America’s Mighty Warriors.

“We realize that freedom comes at the highest price any person can pay, and that it is the greatest gift we have the privilege to enjoy. Every one of these families we are hosting has paid that price. We are honored to host them, we pray this week they remember and that they come to understand the appreciation we have for what they have done,” says Pastor Ed Young.

Fellowship Church and Ed Young have partnered with Debbie Lee and her organization, America’s Mighty Warriors, for this event. Debbie Lee is a Gold Star Mother and founder of the organization. She has been a leading spokesperson for the missions of U.S. troops fighting in the war on terrorism and for their families and families of the fallen. Debbie founded the non-profit organization in response to her son’s last letter home. Her son, Marc Lee, was the first Navy SEAL to be killed in the current military campaign in Iraq.

Ed Young recently hosted another member of Debbie’s organization at a Fellowship Church event, Chris Kyle. Chris Kyle, a former Navy SEAL and the deadliest sniper in United States history, was a special guest at Ed Young’s Independence Day celebration. Kyle is also the author of New York Times best-selling book American Sniper, which is an auto-biographical account of his time in the military. All proceeds from the sales of Kyle’s book go to benefit America’s Mighty Warriors.

Both Governor Perry and Debbie Lee will be available for interviews Thursday at Allaso Ranch. Fellowship Church must be contacted to schedule an interview and prior to arriving at the facility.

Ed Young is the founding pastor of Fellowship Church, one of the most attended churches in North America. He is an author and speaker noted for communicating biblical truth in creative and memorable ways. He has a passion for making the complex, simple as he speaks truth to people in ways they can understand and apply to their everyday lives. He has written 14 other books, including The New York Times best-seller Sexperiment.
