Makro appointed as supplier to Holland Heineken House
Makro UK has been appointed as the sole supplier to Holland Heineken House (HHH) after winning a food and catering supply contract. Holland Heineken House is the home of the Netherlands Olympic Committee and organised by HEINEKEN Netherlands as the main hospitality venue of the Dutch during this summer’s sporting events in London.
Makro UK, the UK’s leading cash and carry wholesaler, will supply food and catering supplies to Alexandra Palace, where Holland Heineken House will be located for four weeks (inc. load in and load out dates.) Holland Heineken House will welcome 6,000 guests every day including members of Dutch dignitaries, VIP guests, athletes and members of the public who have purchased tickets.
The largest of all the hospitality venues, Holland Heineken House will celebrate its 20th anniversary this year with a range of (sporting) activities, DJs and performers from the Netherlands. One Dutch radio station and two Dutch TV stations will also be based at the site, which will also house a range of eateries including: Brasserie van Oranje, a public restaurant and The Olympic Club for NOC*NSF guests only, run by Albron Creations Executive Chef Karel Van Tiel and two-Michelin Star chef Moshik Roth serving up to 800 guests per day; Heineken Arena, serving beverages and snacks for up to 1,000 guests; Brasserie van Oranje, serving brasserie style food during lunch and dinner for up to 800 guests per day; a Food Court with outlets providing snack-food for up to 4,000 guests each day; and a Media Center plus Café for all Dutch journalists.
One of Makro’s sommeliers has been working with Holland Heineken House to help develop a sophisticated wine list and will also be on-site to train all the wine waiters to ensure they posses detailed product knowledge.
Makro will provide a range of products across food and including:
• Over 15,000 kilos of fresh fruit and vegetables
• Over 8,000 kilos of fish and meat
• Over 8,000 kilos of chips
• 10,000 litres of fresh orange & apple juice
Makro will also supply a range of hospitality and catering supplies, including:
• Up to 300 litres of Liquid Nitrogen
• Spanish Saffron
• Texturas products from the world famous Albert & Ferrain Adria
• Truffle Oil
• Rose Water
• Fruit & Vegetables from around the world
• Edible flowers, Ratte Potatoes and Trompet de mort
