Midcounties Co-op Travel Welcomes Gillian Bray to Growing Consortium

The Midcounties Co-op Travel has appointed Gillian Bray to run its new travel agency consortium as it continues to invest in growing the business.

The Midcounties Co-op Travel has appointed Gillian Bray to run its new travel agency consortium as it continues to invest in growing the business.

Gillian, the former sales and recruitment manager for the North and Scotland at Freedom Travel Group, takes up her new post as Business Development Manager at the end of May.

She will be responsible for the day to day running of the consortium which will be officially launched at the end of May.

Alistair Rowland, Group General Manager of Travel Services, said: “This is a significant appointment and demonstrates how we are keen to develop and take the business forward. We are delighted to welcome Gillian who is a well known in the industry and who has the knowledge and experience to be a real asset for us.

“She understands the needs of independent retailers and will help us to attract like minded high value agents who want to enjoy the support of our co-operative values and have a say in how the consortium is run.”

The consortium will retain principal ATOL status for each of its members. It is targeting around 30 agency members with turnovers of up to £10 million over three years.

Midcounties has embarked on a strategy of rapid growth as it aims to become one of the best independent travel retailers in the country, with co-operative values at its core.
