Eduardo Saverin may be in hot water with a few Senators for his preceived abandonment of citizenship to avoid having to pay back taxes down the line, despite the fact that his citizenship renouncement was made months before talks of Facebook’s IPO even began stirring, having lived in Singapore since 2009. Despite all this, though, two democratic senators want their piece of the Facebook pie, no matter the cost.

Saverin made headlines in recent days after it was revealed that he had renounced his U.S. citizenship last year. Many people, including two U.S. senators, accused the 30-year-old of dodging taxes. Saverin struck back yesterday, saying, “It is unfortunate that my personal choice has led to a public debate, based not on the facts, but entirely on speculation and misinformation.”
