Local mover, Brown’s Moving and Hauling Inc. (http://www.brownsmoving-hauling.com/Contact_Us.html), is sponsoring another comedy event in Northern VA: Saturday Night Jive Comedy Jam. The host, “Talkin’ Junk” Justice, will bring out regional comedians Chico Will and Jay the Chameleon to warm up the crowd before the headliner–FREDDIE RICKS. Mr. Ricks has appeared in various movies (“Shaft” with Samuel L Jackson, “Baby Boy” with Tyrese, “Strays”) and comedy venues such as “Coming to the Stage” and “Def Comedy Jam”. In addition to “Saturday Night Jive Comedy Jam” at , Brown’s Moving and Hauling Inc., will also sponsor the April Fools’ Comedy Blast on April 6, with none other than Reggie Ballard aka “Brotha Man” from “Martin” as the headliner. Tickets for the April Fools’ Comedy Blast go on sale when doors open for the Saturday Night Jive Comedy Jam at Eagle Hall (www.tiptoeeaglehall.com) and online at Ticketleap (www.ticketleap.com).
When asked what made Freddie Ricks a good fit as a headliner, Brown’s CEO responded:
“…Freddie Ricks is a national act that is not afraid to share the stage with up-and-coming local comedic talent, like “Talkin’ Junk”. I hope that he will help her to improve her standing in the comedy community, as well as grace the stage with a whole lot of laughter…”
Response to previous comedy shows has been so great that Brown’s CEO is negotiating with Alexander Ayanou, owner of Eagle Hall and The Ayalex Group (http://www.ayalexgroup.com), to hold comedy shows at Eagle Hall on a weekly basis. Mr. Ayanou said, “I’ve been very pleased with not only the event turn out for each successive comedy show, but the number of inquiries from comedy show customers wanting to rent Eagle Hall for their events, as well.”
It looks like Brown’s Moving and Hauling, Inc., is receiving attention for its company, but the local comedians are receiving opportunities to reach national comics (and they might “springboard” into something BETTER…)
