The website, bookcollectorsbooks.com, is different from other book sites in that it is selling books from collectors’ book collections. At the current time, book collectors have very few options for selling their books. They can donate them to a library (if their collection is deemed acceptable), sell them on consignment (at a large discount), sell them at auction (at an even more substantial discount), or the collector can start his or her own book business and list with one of the used book services such as ABE or Biblio and pay monthly fees plus a percentage sales fee. When a collector dies leaving a book collection, his or her heirs have to find a way to dispose of the collection–and this often results in the heirs disposing of the books in a haphazard and uneconomical manner. If a collector agrees to the terms set out on the bookcollectorsbooks.com website, and has books accepted for listing, he or she will be able to list their books for free, and dispose of all or parts of a collection over time. The collector will only pay a fee to the website when books are sold.
The website has been developed with the intention of listing books that are in demand, in collectible condition, and of a higher monetary value. Most of the books the website will sell have been kept in fine condition. Many are signed by the author. Numerous photos of each book accompany a detailed description of the book or collection. The website intends to accept varied collections for listing, and will accept Visa, Master Card and PayPal payments. Shipping is by arrangement or through Canada Post.
